Business Meeting

Roll Call – Councilor Graney, McNabb, Smith, and Mayor Quill – Present. Councilor Brower, absent.
Staff – Lisa Green, Acting City Manager, Debra McCormick, City Clerk, John Rossi, Corporation Counsel, Mike Hammon Fire Chief, Karen Green, Human Resource Director, Bill Lupien, Engineering Services Superintendent.
Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag – All stood for the pledge.
Moment of Silent Prayer or Reflection – Mayor Quill asked for a moment of silence.
Mayor Quill asked that Council adjourn to Executive Session to discuss the employment history of a particular individual. Seconded by Council Graney. Council voted unanimously in agreement. They adjourned at 6:05PM.
Council reconvened at 6:20PM.
Presentations and Proclamations
Dan Schuster, Executive Director of the Auburn Downtown Business Improvement District presented Council with his monthly update of BID activity.
Jessica Miles – Watershed Inspector – Canceled.
Dr. Joe Wasileski, a member of the Owasco Lake Watershed committee discussed the plans for the first annual Owasco Lake Day scheduled for July 1, 2008.

Ordinances – First Read
The City Clerk read into the record for a first reading, Ordinance #9 of 2008 authorizing
Amendment to the City Code of the City of Auburn, C-87 entitled “New Sidewalks, Curbs and
Gutters”.
Local Laws - None
Work Session – No issues were planned for discussion.
Other Business
Financial Resolution #76 of 2008 authorizing the adoption of the 2008 Seymour Library District tax rate. Vote: Councilor Graney, McNabb, Smith, and Mayor Quill, aye. Councilor Brower, absent. CARRIED.
Financial Resolution #77 of 2008 authorizing the adoption of the 2008 Downtown Business Improvement District tax rate. Vote: Councilor Graney, McNabb, Smith, and Mayor Quill, aye. Councilor Brower, absent. CARRIED
Resolution #78 was pulled.
Agreement Resolution #79 of 2008 authorizing the Mayor to enter into a five (5) year lease agreement with the County of Cayuga for lease of space at the historic post office building located at 153 Genesee Street, Auburn, New York to be utilized by the City Court of the City of Auburn, New York. Vote: Councilor Graney, McNabb, Smith, and Mayor Quill, aye. Councilor Brower, absent. CARRIED
Mayor Quill reminded everyone that Tuesday evening would be the opening night for the Auburn Doubledays at Falcon Park.
